10 Tips for Dreamforce 2026 Attendees from the Experts at Canvas Cloud
Dreamforce isn’t just another Salesforce conference, it’s the ultimate experience for the global Salesforce Ohana. With more than 50,000 Trailblazers, Admins, Consultants, and Partners gathering in San Francisco September 15-17, 2026, it can feel overwhelming if you don’t plan ahead.
To help you navigate the keynotes, sessions, networking, and nonstop energy, we asked the Canvas Cloud team to share their top advice.
Here are 10 expert tips for Dreamforce 2026 attendees from our lead Salesforce creative strategists: Daniel Doodle and Benardo da Vinci! (AKA Benjamin Dolar, CEO, and Daniel Dibble, President & CRO.)
TIP #1 – Plan for Plenty of Walking
Dreamforce stretches well beyond a single convention hall, and moving between venues can take longer than it looks on a map. Check where each session is located before finalizing your agenda, build in travel time, and use conference transportation when it makes sense. A little geographic planning and supportive footwear will help you save your energy for the moments that matter.
TIP #2 – Start with the Main Keynote
The opening keynote offers an early look at the announcements, product direction, and customer stories that will spark conversations throughout the week. Seats can fill quickly, so arrive well before it begins. Experiencing it live also lets you share the excitement with thousands of fellow Trailblazers and helps you decide which emerging topics deserve more room in your agenda.
TIP #3 – Choose Your Sessions, but Stay Flexible
Dreamforce offers hundreds of sessions, and the agenda builder fills up quickly. It’s smart to book the topics that matter most to you, but don’t get discouraged if you can’t snag every session you want. Sometimes the real magic happens off the schedule.
TIP #4 – Explore San Francisco Like a Local
There is much more to the city than the blocks surrounding Moscone Center. After sessions wrap up, store your event credentials and conference swag somewhere secure, dress for the neighborhood, and venture farther afield for dinner or sightseeing. Staying aware of your surroundings while keeping a low profile can make your time outside the conference feel more comfortable and enjoyable.
TIP #5 – Curate Your Swag Collection
Expo booths offer everything from apparel and plushies to stickers and tech accessories, making it easy to accumulate more than you intended. Set a simple standard before accepting an item: will you use it, wear it, or remember the experience because of it? Being selective keeps your bag lighter and turns the pieces you do take home into better mementos.
Bonus Tip: Don’t forget to track down Daniel “Doodle” Dibble and Benjamin “Benardo da Vinci” Dolar in their signature blue berets and ask for a custom collectible button that’s way more memorable than another pen.
TIP #6 – Lead with Curiosity
You don’t need to meet everyone in the room to network successfully. Focus instead on a few thoughtful exchanges with attendees, partners, and presenters whose work interests you. Share what you’re learning, listen for common challenges, and follow up afterward with something specific from your conversation. That personal touch is far more memorable than simply trading contact details.
TIP #7 – Mix Business with Fun
Dreamforce is about learning, but it’s also about creating unforgettable memories. The evening concerts have become legendary, with surprise guests from every genre making appearances over the years. They’re a chance to unwind after a packed day, celebrate with your peers, and experience the community in a whole new way. Don’t skip them because these moments are often what people talk about long after the sessions are over.
TIP #8 – Protect Your Energy
Back-to-back sessions, crowded expo halls, and evening events can catch up with you quickly. Reserve a little white space in your schedule for a walk, a meal, or a quiet coffee. Cafe Shoji offers inventive matcha drinks and a calmer atmosphere, while Blue Bottle Coffee is a dependable stop for a strong cup. Later in the day, you might unwind over rooftop views at Shelby’s or enjoy drinks and New American fare at The Harlequin.
TIP #9 – Look Beyond the Official Agenda
Partner happy hours, customer gatherings, and private performances add another dimension to Dreamforce. Their smaller, more relaxed settings can make it easier to connect with people you missed during the day. Invitations often appear before the conference and capacity may be limited, so monitor your network, register promptly, and ask colleagues what events are on their radar.
TIP #10 – Expand Your Perspective
At Canvas Cloud, we believe in turning creative ideas into strategic impact. Dreamforce is the perfect place to see that in action, whether it’s an innovative nonprofit solution or a bold business integration. The best plans evolve when strategy meets imagination.
Whether it’s your first Dreamforce or your fifteenth, these tips from the team at Canvas Cloud will help you balance learning, networking, and enjoying the unique experience that only Dreamforce delivers.
